vinyl roof subaru?
My mom's coworker has a white early 80's 2wd subaru 2 door sedan/coupe, with a navy blue vinyl top. It appears to be factory to me, has anybody seen these?

Re: vinyl roof subaru?
The was a Califiornia company that turned 2door coupes into convertibles, maybe it's one of them.

thats what i thought
I thought it was a convertible too, the vinyl top looks very close in shape to a convertible, but it is not so. Also highly unlikely that the car is from california, as i live in Victoria B.C Canada. Theres a lot of subaru's of all kinds around so if theres a rare one out there there could be one around here.

Well, there was a Subaru convertable here in CT.I heard all kinds of crap because nobody would believe me.Then all of a sudden it's on eBay and everybody knows that they were made in CA,like 50 of them or so.
It probably wasn't made here and I've heard it was a company in Beverly Hills.Probably Jethro Clampett's place.
I believe they were '83's maybe '84's ,not sure.

Re: thats what i thought
I've seen two or three of the convertibles, but I've also seen one of the vinyl top models. The one I saw looked to be a '82 2wd GL SEDAN. That's right, 4 doors. It was kinda creamy yellow with a brown vinyl hard top. I don't know if it was factory, but someone certainly made them.
